19th International Digital Curation Conference
Summary
The 19th edition of the International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC25) will take place in The Hague, the Netherlands between 17-19 February 2025. The main theme of IDCC this year is Twenty years back, twenty years forward: lessons and directions in digital curation.

Description
The first International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC) took place in 2005, one year after the launch of the Digital Curation Centre. The tenth IDCC took place in 2015, one year before the publication of the FAIR principles.
The Call for Proposals in 2015 encouraged submissions taking a decade-long view of the past, present or future. IDCC25 consciously revisits that call with a similar emphasis on building on what we have learned and recommendations on how to progress, but this time with a generational perspective on digital curation.
Although they need not be over a 20-year period, contributors are invited to reflect on the changes in different areas, consider ongoing developments, and think about emerging challenges for the next generation of digital curation work. Location
The IDCC25 will take place in Madurodam, located in The Hague, Netherlands. Madurodam opened in 1952 as a tourist attraction featuring model replicas of famous Dutch cities and landmarks, and continues to host thousands of visitors every year. Seeking to give a realistic miniature portrayal of The Netherlands, everything in Madurodam – including infrastructure and models of Dutch citizens – is to scale. It also features a 3D selfie booth where visitors can make mini models of themselves. All profits made from the park go to local charities in the Netherlands.
