The Kosovo Social Sciences Data Centre (KSSDC) is currently a CESSDA partner and aspiring to become a member in the near future. Hear from Ardita Hajra, formerly Senior Research Analyst at the Centre for Political Courage (CPC).

The CESSDA Country Spotlight series showcases national service providers. We interviewed representatives of the national service providers, dear members of the CESSDA community. We asked them about the value CESSDA provides their data archive and vice versa.

The Kosovo Social Sciences Data Centre

The Kosovo Social Sciences Data Centre (KSSDC) will be national infrastructure for social sciences and humanities providing long-term preservation and distribution of research data which is currently in development. The data centre will be housed within a larger existing organisation but its services will be available to the whole community, both national and international.

Data holdings will include social science data in a broad sense. The primary focus will be quantitative data in sociology, psychology, education science, political science and economics.

KSSDC is under the mentorship of the Czech Institute of Sociology, which has allowed them to broaden their network and knowledge in the field.

Senior Research Analyst Ardita Hajra about CESSDA

“We are hoping that CESSDA will help us and facilitate this process (of developing the Data Archive). We could organise a workshop or conference in Kosovo where CESSDA members could participate.

Together we could have a conversation with government entities or with other national agencies who are willing to invest in establishing the data archive. And like that we would be able to move this process forward and consequently become a full member of CESSDA.” Ardita Hajra, formerly Senior Research Analyst at Centre for Political Courage.
