Spotlight on the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research
Tue 16 Apr 2024

LISER (formerly CEPS/INSTEAD) is a Luxembourgish public research institute under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research and is a CESSDA partner. Hear from Thierry Kruten, Head of Data Center at LISER.

The CESSDA Country Spotlight series showcases national service providers. We interviewed representatives of the national service providers, dear members of the CESSDA community. We asked them about the value CESSDA provides their data archive and vice versa.

The Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research

The Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) carries out basic and applied research activities in the social sciences with the aim of advancing knowledge, informing the actions of public authorities and socio-economic actors at the national and international level.

The LISER Data Centre aims to make data from scientific studies available to researchers, political actors and other partners in society. They offer tools and services that enable both data producers and data users to easily share, find and access reusable and interoperable (FAIR) data. This methodology promotes open science while being compliant with the security, integrity and privacy of information at stake.

The LISER Data Centre has been using both the CESSDA Data Management Expert Guide and the CESSDA Data Archiving Guide to standardise their operations and to support the researchers and train them in data management and archiving.

Thierry Kruten about CESSDA

“The main value we have received from CESSDA are the two guides they have published: the CESSDA Data Management Expert Guide and the CESSDA Data Archiving Guide.” Thierry Kruten, Head of Data Center at LISER.
