Dear CESSDA and SSHOC community,

CESSDA is sharing the very sad news that Joris Voskuilen from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) passed away in the beginning of the year.

We are shocked and saddened by this loss and we would like to express our sincere condolences to Joris´ family and friends.

Joris worked at NWO as a policy officer for over 21 years. For many years Joris was an active supporter of the development of social sciences research infrastructures both nationally and internationally. He was a member of CESSDA´s General Assembly and also actively involved in the assemblies of ESS and SHARE.

Many of us have had the enormous pleasure of working with him. His humor, analytical mind and support of colleagues will be sorely missed. And so, his enthusiasm for the social sciences matters, languages, good wine, and France, his second home.
