The 2nd OSCARS Open Call for Open Science Projects and Services took place on January 15th, 2025. 900 registrants and 560 institutions expressed interest in participating and submitting projects and services during the online preparations for the Open Call.

The OSCARS project has not yet announced the Call date. However, the applications must be submitted within 60 days from the opening of the call. Each project can apply for a budget between 100,000 and 250,000 euros. Funded projects have to be implemented in a period between 12 and 24 months.

By consolidating the accomplishments and outcomes of leading European RIs in the ESFRI roadmap and beyond into enduring transdisciplinary FAIR data services and working practices, OSCARS - Open Science Clusters’ Action for Research and Society, a 48-month Horizon Europe project, aims to foster the uptake of Open Science in Europe.

Building on the Science Cluster concept and ensuring the adoption of the FAIR principles and Open Science practices, will be the primary goals of this call. More broadly, the objective is to conduct exceptional science and seek social benefits by utilising the Open Research strategy. Universities, institutes, SMEs, big businesses, individual researchers, and consortia are the primary target audience for this call.

Meanwhile, the first Open Call has already shown great interest among scientific communities within and beyond the Science Clusters’ domains.
