I4NG Webinar: Data Visualization with R and Jupyter
As part of Infra4NextGen, AUSSDA – The Austrian Social Science Data Archive is hosting a webinar on Data Vizualisation in R and Jupyter for social science researchers, MA and PhD students. In the first part of the webinar, participants will learn the basics of visualizations, understand the criteria for good science graphics, get to know the process of visualizing data, and learn more about the role of colours and fonts. The second part of the webinar will introduce them to ggplot2 and its functions to create state-of-the-art plots following the principles from part one of the webinar. After completing this webinar, participants will be able to use ggplot2 to visually communicate their research results. They will understand the basic purpose of data visualizations and increase their visual literacy. Attendees will be able to perceive, interpret and comprehend all sorts of different visualizations and create these visualizations for their own research. EDDI 2024: 16th Annual European DDI User Conference - call for proposals
EDDI 2024 is organised jointly by the Swiss Institute for Information Science (SII), at the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons, GESIS - Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences and IDSC of IZA - International Data Service Center of the Institute for the Study of Labor. It will be hosted by the Swiss Institute for Information Science in Chur, Switzerland.
I4NG Hackathon: Transform your ideas into graphs! Visualization of research data
The hackathon ‘Transform your ideas into graphs! Visualization of research data’ is three-day online event hosted by the Infra4NextGen project. Each team of participants will cooperatively produce visualizations of European Social Survey (ESS)/CROss-National Online Survey (CRONOS) Panel data and showcase their results. Participants can use any software or tools of their choice to create their visualizations. The Hackathon will take place from 9am-3pm (CET) on 3-5 December 2024. Register as a team or individually. If you sign up individually but want to work in a group, we will help you form a team during the event, depending on your research interests. Registration closes on Sunday 24 November 2024.
Conference and course on secondary data analysis and data sharing
A two day face-to-face conference on data sharing and secondary data analysis in child and youth wellbeing research will be held on 9th and 10th December 2024 in Zagreb, Croatia, along with a one-day statistical course on how to access and compare data from different sources on 11th December 2024. The events are organised as part of the COORDINATE project, which aims to build a community of researchers focused on enhancing child wellbeing.
